FIRST LADIES CORNER IT ‘S GONNA BE WORTH THE SQUEEZE Lady Carenda Lynch/Lady Tarsha Jefferson There are often times when life presents you lemons. A couple months ago we featured “Making Sweet Lemonade,” by author Pat Shultz in our Above Rubies book club. We as women have to take the attitude that when life presents you lemons, not to grow bitter because in the end it will be worth the squeeze. Lady Lynch- For some the act of squeezing yields pressure and pain. Since that can initially produce an emotion of discomfort, that doesn’t mean we have to stay discouraged. I’m always reminded that all things work together to them that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. Lady Jefferson- Just as my spiritual Mother (Lady Jametta Moore) stated to me. “We, together with Carenda, we are making Sweet Lemonade right now; Squeezing lemon juice out of lemons.” So in the mist of the 20 fi ght God gives us strength to add a little water and a little sugar to create a refreshing treat. Lady Lynch- That is the key Lady Jefferson, that we must allow God to create in us what’s best for us. Therefore, when it’s all said and done others are enjoying the work of God’s hands and not from any glory of our own. Your squeeze may have you in a season of total dependency on God. Your squeeze may have you in a position of complete surrender and humbleness. Your squeeze may have you in a place where you fi ll like you are in the belly of a fi sh like Jonah. As the bible tells us no discipline at the time feels good but at the end it will produce righteousness and peace. Lady Jefferson- I am reminded of the scripture Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
