Over my lifetime I have encountered Latinos working in social work settings in many places. I also find that many of the Latino social workers bring the tradition of working in social work from their country of origin. I don’t think that people are aware that many Latin American countries have strong education programs in social work. I recently read that Cuba has three schools of social work and that social workers are instrumental in training parents of young children on nutrition issues.
