COVER STORY “What can I do for her?” This is what we should ask ourselves on a regular basis. Many husbands tend to put their own wants and desires above what she wants, or what needs to be done. Some men have too many activities to indulge in, and more often than not, responsibilities get left to the lady at home to tend to. And what is sadder than that is many men have let it happen without a second thought. What we as men must keep in mind is that we are to cherish her, this does not mean going off with “The Boys” and leaving her with all the kids. God has given us the woman and it is up to us to protect and take care of her. This includes her feelings, wants, and desires too. Sacrifice your wants to allow her happiness to grow. Christ sacrificed his life for us so the least we can do is sacrifice a hobby for her. In closing, one day my wife and I were out of town shopping and ran into an older couple we had not seen in years. We caught each other up to speed with where we were in life and as we talked our wives walked ahead of us. The Gentleman said to me “Son I love the way you have your wife looking, I have been married forty years and every day I made sure my wife looked & felt like a queen.” He went on to say “Son find out the things your wife loves and values, and you do your best to make her feel like a queen, and she will always make you her King in your home and in the community.” Just that powerful nugget alone was far better than any gift out of a department store. I know many wives around this time would love to have a nice Mink Coat or a tennis bracelet from Tiffany’s or even a nice fragrance. However, deep down inside many women would agree that the best gifts to unwrap this season would be my top three picks: Love - Time - Attention I guarantee you my Brothers if you give her these three you cannot go wrong. Who knows, you may just find yourself nine months later with a gift that will bless the both of you! 7
