Coach Lemons 300th Win

The play at the plate that clinched Coach Lemons’ 300th win at Chattahoochee High School April 22.

Chattahoochee High School Head Baseball Coach Tim Lemons has been at the helm of Hooch Baseball since the program’s inception in 1991. This is Coach Lemons’ 18th year at Chattahoochee and he has had his share of accomplishments, including winning the 2005 AAAAA High School Baseball Championship.

As we all know, seasons are short in high school baseball and milestones are few and far between. But April 22 served up one more accolade to add to Coach Lemons’ long list of achievements.

The Cougars were hosting the number one-ranked South Forsyth War Eagles at Cougar Field that Wednesday. The game was a pitching duel and, at the end of regulation play, there was no score. After the Cougars shut down the War Eagles in the top of the eighth inning, the top of the Cougar’s batting order managed to score with one out to win the game. As exciting as the game was, it was just a small mark in a much greater accomplishment.

That win over the top-ranked War Eagles marked the 300th victory for Coach Lemons in his career at Chattahoochee. On April 27, the 2009 Dugout Club was proud to have Coach Lemons’ son, T.J., a member of the 2005 State Championship team, present his father with a plaque in recognition of this significant accomplishment.

Congratulations, Coach Lemons!
